The plight of modern-day Black farmers in the United States can be traced back to the 40 Acres Promise after Emancipation, Reconstruction, Black Codes/Jim Crow, and the Great Migration. The question is what will the future bring?

Recently Civil Rights Attorrney Benjamin Crump filed a class action suit on behalf of non-white farmers against the US government for a breach of debt relief - Black Farmers SUE Federal Gov't On $4B Debt Relief Program. This is the topic of discussion with the President of the National Black Farmers Association, Mr. John Boyd, in a conversation with Roland Martin.
